Benefits

 
Medical Plans

American Sterling offers available health plans in each of the states in which American Sterling does business.  All medical plans offer a broad array of services, including hospital and physician services, prescription drugs and preventative benefits.  As a benefit of employment, American Sterling shares a significant portion of the cost of insurance premiums available to you and your eligible dependents.


Dental Plan

American Sterling offers a dental plan to associates that include, preventative, restorative and prosthetic coverage.  There is no charge to American Sterling Associates for this coverage. 

American Sterling shares a significant portion of the cost of the dental insurance available to your spouse and eligible dependents.


Vision Plan

American Sterling will reimburse associates up to a maximum allowance on an annual basis for associate’s out-of-pocket vision expenses


Basic Life Coverage

American Sterling provides basic life insurance at no cost to associates equal to 3 x the associate’s base salary.


Supplemental Life Coverage

American Sterling Associates may purchase supplemental  life insurance and may purchase coverage for a spouse and children


Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage

American Sterling Associates have the option of enrolling in the AD&D Plan that provides coverage and protection for associates


Long Term Disability

American Sterling associates are insured against long-term disabilities (LTD) at no cost to the associate.  The Long Term Disability Plan provides associates with covered pay when the company’s short-term disability plan is exhausted.


Short Term Disability

American Sterling associates my elect to purchase short-term disability insurance at a cost shared by American Sterling.  The Short Term Disability Plan provides associates with salary in the event of a short-term disability


Spending Accounts – Flexible Benefits Plan

The Health Care and Day Care Spending Accounts allow American Sterling Associates to make before-tax contributions to designated accounts from which associates are reimbursed for eligible health care or day care expenses.  Associates can participate in one or both accounts.  Worksite Benefit Plans is carrier of the flexible benefits plan for the American Sterling companies.


Time Off Benefits

American Sterling provides associates with vacation time that begins accruing on the first day of employment.  FT and Regular PT Associates working at least 25 hours per week may earn vacation time.

In addition to vacation time off benefits, American Sterling associates accrue sick leave benefits for unexpected absences.


Holidays

In addition to American Sterling Time Off Benefits; Associates enjoy 10 paid common holidays each year.


Tuition Reimbursement

American Sterling provides a tuition reimbursement program to support career development for benefit eligible associates.   Associates are encouraged to continue their development by enrolling in educational programs that support career development as an associate of American Sterling.


Associate Referral at American Sterling

American Sterling associates are rewarded for referring candidates for employment to any of the American Sterling Companies.


401(K) Retirement Plan

Associates may contribute from 1% to 15% of before tax salary to the American Sterling 401(K) plan.   You direct  the investment of your contributions in a variety of investment options currently offered through Prudential Financial.  The company contribution is discretionary and the matching contribution is up to 6% of the participant’s compensation.   Your contributions are always vested.  American Sterling’s discretionary contributions are fully vested after 6 years of employment.


ESOP- Employee Stock Ownership Plan

The American Sterling ESOP program; allows associates to share in the value and growth of the company.  The ESOP is intended to provide associates with stock in the company and an additional source of retirement income at not direct cost to the associate.
